Welcome to my homepage!

I am presently working as an research professor at Myongji University, South Korea. Previously I was serving KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, India as an Assistant Professor of Biotechnology. My area of interests include, amongst others, developing microfluidics devices for lab-on-a-chip concept; miniaturization of conventional lab-use products such as PCR device and electrochemical bench using microfabrication; conceptualizing hand-held devices matching commercial glucometers and immobilization and stabilization of biomolecules in synthetic and natural polymers. My recent interests are in DNA aptamers and molecular imprinting for prolonged stability of recognition elements.

I am basically a chemist (graduated from Calcutta University with chemistry, physics and mathematics) turned biotechnologist (M.Sc. in Induatrial biotechnology from Punjabi University). Being into a complete interdisciplinary curriculum, I gathered experience covering various aspects of science. These include: electrochemical and optical biosensors, conducting and synthetic polymers based immobilization techniques, electronics, Labview based bioinstrumentation, clinical diagnosis and also wide subjects like microbiology, cell and tissue culture, immunology, enzymology, molecular biology and of-course, biochemistry.
